Hi, I’m Jenny Petit—a wedding and lifestyle photographer, a correctional officer’s wife, mom to four amazing kids, cancer survivor, and daughter of the King of Kings. I love adventure but thrive in routine. I believe in hugs, happy tears, and capturing the beauty of everyday moments.
What began as a passion project—photographing family and friends—quickly grew into a thriving full-time business. I officially launched Jenny Petit Photography in 2014, and since then, I’ve photographed over 200 weddings and thousands of families, seniors, newborns, and milestone moments throughout Raleigh, Wayne County, Wilson County, and Johnston County, NC.
Today, I document around 15–20 weddings and 100+ lifestyle sessions each year. And I'm still in awe that I get to do this for a living—telling real, emotional stories through my lens.

I specialize in wedding and lifestyle photography that blends classic portraiture with documentary storytelling. That means I’ll absolutely get the beautifully posed images you can hang on your wall—but I’ll also capture the raw, candid moments: the tearful glances, the joyful chaos, the belly laughs in between.

Clients often tell me that a session with me feels more like a fun date night or a family adventure than a photo shoot. I’ve got a few signature tricks (and a quirky phrase all the kids know by heart!) to help everyone relax and enjoy the experience.
As your wedding photographer, I’m with you every step of the way—from timeline planning to day-of coordination tips. With 200+ weddings under my belt, I’ve seen just about everything. I’m calm in the chaos, flexible when things shift, and always watching for the in-between moments that matter most.
And if you’re wondering whether you’ll get enough photos—don’t worry, I’m known for overdelivering. If I promise 50, you’ll probably get 150. I can’t help but capture everything I see and feel.

Being a childhood cancer survivor, I know firsthand how fragile and precious life is. Tomorrow isn't promised—and that’s exactly why I photograph today. Every click of the shutter is a reminder to hold on to what matters: love, laughter, family, and faith.
